A new 2019 Garda Recruitment Campaign has been launched by the Minister of Justice for Garda trainees with a deadline for applications on Wednesday 24th April 2019.
“The competition for the selection of Garda Trainees attracts a very high number of applicants in every campaign and I would encourage our young people to consider an Garda Síochána as a career. The quality of our police force is an inherent determinant in the type of society we live in so we need quality people taking up policing as a career. I would hope to see as many of the new recruits stationed in Limerick to bring our police force back to acceptable levels.”
“Over the last year we have seen a sharp increase in Anti Social behaviour and crime in the Limerick area and I am repeating my call on the Minister for Justice Charlie Flanaganfor a full time Garda Station in the Castletroy Area to police East Limerick. I am also calling for an increase of regular foot patrols across the Limerick District as an effective deterrent to stamp out the Anti-Social Behaviour that has become all too common in our communities. I regularly get calls from residents in several locations complaining about the behaviour for some young people hanging around in gangs and up to no good.”
The Public Appointments Service are the centralised recruiter for an Garda Síochána and will process candidates on their behalf. Applications can only be made on the PAS website. A full list of eligibility criteria can be found in the official Information Booklet released by the Public Appointments Service.
See the PAS website for more information.
